Top 5 Hottest Gadgets This Fall 2012
Fall 2012 is promising to be an amazing season for new gadgets. In addition to several launches of must-have devices, there are some extremely powerful updated versions of your favorite products being released as well. While there are many to consider, today we will place our focus on the five gadgets that will be on the top of everyone's list this year.
#1 - Nexus 7
Google has done it again. If you love your Android-powered smartphone, chances are you will absolutely love the Nexus 7 tablet, which was designed to work expressly with Google Play. This 7-inch device is offered with either 8gb ($199 retail) or 16g ($249), making it much more budget-friendly than some other similarly sized tablets. With a quad-core processor, up to 8 hours of battery life, access to Google Apps and a slim, lightweight design, you'll be able to take the Nexus 7 with you and use it just about anywhere.
#2 - Kindle Fire 2
As with other launches from Amazon, the on-again-off-again launch of the much awaited Kindle Fire 2 is still up in the air. However, despite the rumors, it is coming and will likely come in two versions and price ranges: one with a high-resolution version of the popular 7-inch screen format, and another featuring a larger high-res screen. 2012 is all about the quad-core processor, so it is very likely that the Kindle Fire 2 will also feature this type of processing capability and will continue to use an Android-based OS.
#3 - Nintendo WiiU
Slated for a holiday release, the latest redesign of the Wii gaming console will bring Nintendo back into play. The new Wii U GamePad controller helps players to be even more in the game than ever before, through the use of a lightweight, 6.2-inch LCD touch screen and traditional button controls to navigate their way through the world of video games. Motion control, a front-facing camera, stereo speakers, rumble features, microphone, sensor bar and a rechargeable lithium-ion batter round out the device, giving gamers a whole new way to view and play popular titles. Backwards Wii compatibility, the option to use other controllers, HDMI support and the ability to network via wireless or LAN connections are all included in this well-rounded gaming system.
#4 - iPhone 5
This latest update to the extremely popular iPhone is expected to come in 16gb, 32gb and 64gb versions and will have a larger screen, longer battery life and a slimmer, more lightweight design. Of course many other unique features will likely be available in the new iPhone 5, but as usual, the folks at Apple are being pretty tight-lipped about it. Fortunately, with a mid-September release in the works, you won't have long to wait.
#5 - The Pebble Watch
When this unique device hit the Internet via Kickstarter in spring 2012, it quickly broke records and sold out completely. The Pebble Watch is an E-Paper watch for use with Android and iPhone and is fully customizable with all sorts of features and alerts. More watches will be available this fall and in new colors as well, selling for $150. Visit GetPebble.com to check for updates and grab one while they last!
